History
Ingeniero técnico agrónomo y funcionario del Estado desde 1973 y político español del Partido Popular (PP). En el año 1987 fue elegido concejal del Ayuntamiento de Badajoz, aunque no fue hasta 1995 cuando su partido ganó las elecciones. Entre 1996 y 2000 fue jefe de Gabinete del delegado del Gobierno en Extremadura. Fue diputado en las Cortes Generales por Badajoz desde 1995 hasta mayo de 2012, y concejal del Ayuntamiento de Badajoz desde 2015 al 2016. En el año 2012 ocupó el cargo de Delegado del Gobierno de España en Extremadura, y en 2016 lo asignaron como Director General del Cuerpo Nacional de Policía hasta 2018.
